Interning with AX Paris ft Manqunian lifestyle

Hi everyone!
I'd say i've had a well deserved break from blogging possibly about 3 weeks but whilst i've been away I've been learning some valuable experience in the fashion industry before starting The University of Sunderland in September where I will be studying Fashion Journalism, 19 days till freshers, whose excited?

After my work experience on Newcastle Fashion week I was eager to learn more about the fashion industry, but through the area that I will be studying in. I emailed around magazine's and online websites and eventually got a reply from the team at AX Paris who are based in Manchester. I originally only wanted to do a couple of days as I've never really been away from home on my own but 2 weeks was the minimum and there was no way I was turning an opportunity like that down. Fortunately, my dad's step sister recently moved to Manchester which is where I stayed for the 2 weeks and boy we had so much fun.

I arrived at Manchester Piccadilly on Monday 3rd August real early and I basically got straight to the busy, city working life, I made my own way to where I needed to be (without my precious car), I met the team at AX Paris and got straight into the Social Media side of the company. I looked for bloggers that they could work with, companies to collaborate with, I did work through Instagram and work on the website itself such as linking Celebrity style steals to the product on the website, linking bloggers and also working behind the scenes so that the new collection went live on time. I also got to write a piece for the AX Paris blog about Rosie Fortescue's style steal, you can view it at the very end of this post. I felt so privileged to be with the team at the time of AW15 launch, if you haven't already shopped the style go ahead here.

I was over the moon when I got to do some photography work as I've always had an interest in it and I haven't done much of it since finishing Alevels a year ago. I got to snap the new heels and a lot of the new collection ready for the world to see on Instagram and the other social media sites. I got to sort some of the new samples that came in, learned to work my way around the warehouse and lots lots more.

Out of work I also learned to become so much more independent, without having my parents and boyfriend around I basically had to fend for myself which involved cooking, uh oh! I seriously can't cook and I struggled a bit to turn the microwave and hob on but I got there. For those of you thinking 'she can't use a microwave' I swear it wasn't a normal microwave with the normal looking buttons also at home I have a gas hob not electric. I did it though!! Bev who I stayed with took me to her Tennis Club which was lots of fun and I also had my first ride on a Metro, Hartlepool has nothing like that. We went for a Curry one night, drinks another and ZIZI's wow, breadcrumbs on top of a lasagne, genius.

I also got to meet up with my good friend Jess Potts who I also visited in Easter. We went to Almost Famous in the Great Northern and it was insanely good from the food to the cocktails, apart from the bit where one of the staff squirted one of the others with table cleaner but it hit me right in the face instead. Silllllyyy girl!

I could literally sit here all night and write down every single detail over the 2 weeks but I don't want to make you's fall asleep. All I know is that my internship was so useful and all of the information that I've took form the 2 weeks in Manchester will either help me at uni or in a future job. The team were absolutely amazing and so helpful, I really appreciate all of the experience that each member gave me and I would definitely recommend them if people are looking for experience in the fashion industry like I was. They are currently looking for interns as we speak, click here.

Thank you so much to AX Paris for my card and coat and the cheeky Nandos!!
Also thank you to Bev for letting me be her roomie for 2 weeks, I will definitely be back.
Until next time Manchester!!

Here are some bits of my work that were published on AX Paris' Instagram and Website.

 Luce x
